Pochettino implores Boehly to sign the midfielder who De Bruyne and Eden Hazard both rate highly.
Romeo Lavia, a target for Chelsea, might cost at least £40 million this summer to get from Southampton.
Will Southampton be able to retain their finest players, like Romeo Lavia, given that they will be competing in the Championship next season?
According to The Daily Mail, Chelsea is a fan of the 19-year-old midfielder Lavia.
Furthermore, they believe that Southampton plan to seek anything between £40 million and £50 million for the sale of the adolescent.
This week, The Express reported that Eden Hazard, a fan favourite at Chelsea, had previously urged Lavia to go to Stamford Bridge if the chance presented itself.
Although it will require a significant transfer fee to bring the Belgium international from Southampton, media rumours suggest that Chelsea are unquestionably intrigued.
Lavia, who is only 19 years old, had excellent maturity and was one of the better players this season on a Saints team that was demoted from the Premier League.
The former Manchester City teenager has now played a whole season of English Premier League football, which should be a huge checkmark next to his name.
Lavia was previously described as "very good" by Manchester City star Kevin De Bruyne, who also predicted that he will become a great player in the future. If De Bruyne gives you a high grade, you are obviously doing a number of things really well.
Lavia is definitely a rising star we would like to see in Chelsea colours, but we’re sceptical of the quoted price tag of around £40million.
If we can negotiate down a further £5million-£10million, we would look at this deal in a totally different way.
Regardless, Southampton’s defensive midfielder is a big talent with plenty of physical and technical attributes.
Lavia is undoubtedly a developing talent who we would want to see wear the Chelsea uniform, but we have our doubts about the reported asking price of almost £40 million.
If we can reduce the price by another £5 million to £10 million, we would see this purchase quite differently.
Regardless, Southampton's defensive midfielder has a lot of physical and technical skills and is a huge prospect.
