Nicolas Jackson will be acquired by Chelsea for more than €35 million, according to Romano.
Nicolas Jackson's acquisition by Chelsea has now received the "here we go" treatment from Fabrizio Romano.
Due to Jackson's contract's €35m release clause, the discussions have been quite simple. Romano claims that the Blues have agreed to pay more than that in exchange for the ability to spread the payments out over time, which is in line with what we had projected.

Understand Villarreal accepted Chelsea to pay just bit more than €35m release clause but better payment terms using installments.

Personal terms have long since been decided upon; the only thing left to do is wait for the planned medical, according to Romano.
Although we are unsure of how this decision will turn out, the club's transfer team made an intriguing choice. Jackson is not the high-end striker on the level of Harry Kane or Lautaro Martinez that fans desire, but at €35 million, he is a steal who can hopefully start producing goals on a regular basis. To surpass our top goal scorers from the previous two years, he simply needs to score 10 goals.
If he can restore our competitiveness, we will be prepared to spend heavily on a talented forward when and if they become available.
