Moises Caicedo is likely to sign with Chelsea, according to Fabrizio Romano
Chelsea are in prime position to recruit Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder Moises Caicedo, claims transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.
The Equatonian will be signed by Blues this summer. Caicedo, according to rumours, is keen to join the team, and Chelsea has made him their top target.
When Chelsea has finished making outbound moves, according to Romano, they will begin working on Caicedo's contract. He remarked:
"Chelsea will start working on the [Moises] Caicedo deal after everything [with outgoings] settles down. The earlier updates remain unchanged. Chelsea will make an effort to sign Caicedo because they want him.
"I can't forecast the future, but at this point the player is solely in talks with Chelsea. Right now, the Brighton player is in a relaxed state. No need to be alarmed.
At a very early level, Caicedo has demonstrated significant maturity in the field. Although he is still in the early stages of his career, he has already made a name for himself as one of the Premier League's most in-demand midfielders.
N'golo Kante, who departed the team on a free transfer, will be replaced by the 21-year-old in a like-for-like manner. He possesses all the qualities to develop into a holding midfielder with similar skills to the French international.
Chelsea hasn't started talks about a transfer with the Seagulls, but they'll probably ramp up their interest once they're done with the departing players. According to rumours, Blues may make an offer of up to £80 million to secure Caicedo this summer.
In the event that Arsenal is unable to sign Declan Rice soon, Manchester United is also considering Caicedo, and both clubs are looking for options. In order to prevent a bidding war for the player, Chelsea must be prepared.
