Chelsea is making strides and is'very confident' of closing the Manuel Ugarte deal, according to sources

With sources in Portugal now claiming that the deal is "done" and that Manuel Ugarte will become a Chelsea player soon, Chelsea appears to be nearing completion on our first incoming move of the summer transfer window.

Although that might be the case, later reports have toned that down a bit. Fabrizio Romano, for instance, claims that while Chelsea are "very confident" in making this happen, there are still a number of technicalities to be worked out about contracts, costs, and other factors.

So, not quite finished. Done-ish?

According to Record, Chelsea will pay the 22-year-old's contract in installments totaling €60+5m rather than triggering the release clause, which typically entails higher taxes and costs.
