90% completed - Sources claim Chelsea has made a second major acquisition very quickly.

According to information cited by Football Insider, Nicolas Jackson of Villareal is on the verge of joining Chelsea.

According to a reliable source with inside knowledge of the matter, the Blues' pursuit of the 21-year-old is already "90% done."

Negotiations between Chelsea and the Senegal international forward have already proceeded to personal terms.

To complete Jackson's signing, Mauricio Pochettino's team must now pay the release clause, which is estimated to be worth roughly £34 million.

The teenager might be Chelsea's second significant newcomer in the near future, with Moises Caicedo also nearing a move to Stamford Bridge.

The Blues are prepared to make a formal offer for Caicedo this week, according to a report from Football Insider on Monday, June 19; the London club and the midfielder have already reached a "verbal understanding" over personal terms.

After failing a Bournemouth physical during the January transfer window, Jackson had a brilliant second half of the 2022–23 season.

He supposedly had a £20 million deal with the Cherries, but the transfer was cancelled due to hamstring injury worries.

In the final eight La Liga games of the season, he went on to score nine goals and record two assists.

Jackson, whose contract with Villareal still has three years to remain, scored 13 goals and provided five assists in 38 games played in all competitions during the 2022–23 season.

The 21-year-old is capable of playing both wings and in the centre of the line.

Chelsea finished in 12th position last season, meaning they won't be playing in Europe in 2023–24.

Romelu Lukaku, Kai Havertz, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Christian Pulisic, Hakim Ziyech, and other current attackers have all been mentioned in connection with a summer transfer out of Stamford Bridge.
