Mauricio Pochettino wants to retain Lampard staff members on after his appointment

Today, our reporter Simon Phillips has a fascinating insider report on our new boss.

Our incoming manager, Mauricio Pochettino, has stated on his Substack that he is considering keeping on some of Frank Lampard's temporary staff when he takes over in the summer. Although Phillips claims he is unaware of the individuals being considered, he does name Ashley Cole as someone he would "love" to see continue.

Additionally, he says Lampard himself may be a fascinating choice for a director who serves as a liaison between the board and the manager. We like the concept, but considering that we've hired roughly 5 men for vague director of football positions in the past 12 months, it might be excessive.

We would anticipate Pochettino's crew to continue as a whole as a unit, but there will be opportunity for additions. His team, notably his assistant Jesus Perez and his son Sebastiano, are recognized for being particularly vital to the coach and how he works. He may be required to keep some employees, whether he wants to or not, given that Lampard and Potter's legacy staff are still around.

Some employees, like Bruno Saltor, are still featured on the Chelsea website, but given their association with Potter, we doubt they will remain there for very long when Pochettino is officially hired. The financial fallout from a poor appointment continues.

We resemble an Italian club during the worst Serie A excesses in that we have more managers on gardening leave than victories over the last three months.

Let's hope that this signals the start of the chaos's end.
