As European powerhouses show interest, Christopher Nkunku is rethinking his choice to join Chelsea.

Christopher Nkunku, a Leipzig forward who is rumored to have signed a permanent deal with Chelsea this summer, is apparently rethinking his options in light of interest from Real Madrid.

Since the beginning of last season, Nkunku, 25, has become one of the world's top offensive performers. He gained fame for his impressive performances, scoring 35 goals and dishing out 20 assists in 52 appearances last season across all competitions.

The eight-cap France international is a second striker with a right foot who is gifted with speed and shooting. Last December, he reportedly agreed to a £53 million transfer to Chelsea. On July 1 of this year, a new signing announcement for him is expected.

Nkunku is reportedly reconsidering his impending move to the Blues because he has been associated with Real Madrid, according to Fichajes. He is hesitant to sign with the Stamford Bridge team because they failed to secure European play for the upcoming season.

Nkunku, who left Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) for Die Roten Bullen in 2019 for an initial sum of £11 million, is looking to join a team that can compete on numerous fronts. He doesn't want to join Chelsea because of this.

Nkunku would be a smart choice for the La Liga team if he decides to sign with them during the forthcoming summer transfer window. He could fill in as a standby wide operator and would give Karim Benzema some competition.

Despite two injuries since the beginning of the year, Nkunku has been in excellent shape during the current 2022–23 season. In 34 games for Leipzig across all competitions, he has so far scored 20 goals and provided seven assists.

Chelsea advised against signing an attacker from the Bundesliga
Famed journalist Paul Brown told GiveMeSport that Chelsea shouldn't pursue a permanent deal for Bayern Munich attacker Sadio Mane before the forthcoming 2023–24 season. He added details:

"I believe that signing Sadio Mane would be a really stupid move. To me, it seems quite absurd to add another winger who has just turned 31 to a team that already has enough wingers to field three teams, let alone one.

Since moving to Bayern Munich from Liverpool for almost £35 million last summer, Mane, 31, has had trouble living up to expectations. In 38 games for his team this season, he has only scored 12 goals and given six assists.

In contrast, according to Football Insider, the Blues have identified Mane as a potential summer acquisition. They are now working to bolster their forward lineup while staying in compliance with Financial Fair Play regulations.
