Gary Neville, a former player for Manchester United, criticises Todd Boehly for making a mess at Chelsea.
After the Blues' 3-1 loss to Arsenal, former Manchester United right-back Gary Neville chastised Todd Boehly and advised him to stop meddling in football-related matters.

Six defeats were suffered by West London under interim manager Frank Lampard during his first six games in charge. But more than just a loss, their 3-1 defeat to Arsenal raised questions about the players' performances.

Since Boehly bought Chelsea, he has spent approximately $500 million on player transfers over the previous two transfer windows.

The American billionaire's spending hasn't paid off on the pitch, either, as Chelsea is now occupying the 12th spot in the Premier League.

The former Manchester United icon slammed Boehly for interfering in football matters on his Gary Neville Podcast (h/t Daily Mail) and decried Chelsea's performance against Arsenal.

The owner's sole responsibility is to financially support the team and refrain from playing any football, as the former manager of Valencia emphasised in this context. Additionally, Chelsea's hierarchy has specific people for each position, including scouting and finding great players, so they can handle those circumstances.

In addition, if a player is not performing to his or her full ability, the manager might observe the player's attitude and performance. However, it is understandable for an owner to lose patience eventually because a string of defeats becomes humiliating and causes them to question why their players are having trouble.

Football in the Premier League is challenging. Although it might seem simple to spend money on any issues that arise, this isn't always the case. There are other teams that share our objectives and who scout and spend money more intelligently. Even with Boehly, there is a learning curve here; ideally, things go more smoothly in his second full season.
