Rio Ferdinand said the 22-year-old Chelsea player will be unhappy with himself now.

Benoit Badiashile, according to Rio Ferdinand, will likely be quite upset that he didn't participate in more games during his first few months at Chelsea.
22-year-old Benoit Badiashile signed with the Blues during the January transfer window.

Every time he gets on the pitch, Chelsea's £35 million (Sky Sports) investment in the French defender from Monaco is looking like a wonderful one.

The left-footed centre back has only appeared in nine games, though. His biggest setback came when Graham Potter left him off the Champions League roster, making him unavailable for matches across Europe.

Ferdinand, a BT Sport analyst, predicts that Badiashile will come to the conclusion that he should have played more.

A young center-back named Badiashile is seated there and is not selected for the Champions League team. I should be playing, he thinks. He's probably sitting there contemplating how he's been passed over in favour of some of the players in front of him. Declared Ferdinand to BT Sport.

The towering center-back has excelled in nine appearances, but in the last six Premier League games, he has only started two.

However, we believe that from this point on until the end of the season, he should start.

In the upcoming games, Frank Lampard needs to start starting Badiashile.

The 22-year-old rookie has displayed all the signs of being one of the few successful signings under current ownership.

As he matures and has more Premier League experience, it seems like he has a lot more to offer.

Badiashile was recently referred to as "one of the brightest young talents" in the sport, according to Micah Richards. When it comes to developing center-halves, we won't debate him at all.

French defenders Badiashile and Wesley Fofana would be among the first names on the team sheet for each game if we were selecting the Chelsea squad for the remainder of the season.
