Chelsea completes the signing of a gifted winger, with Boehly approving the requested transfer

The 18-year-old forward's tenure at Carrow Road expires at the end of the current campaign, and a deal has been reached for Matos to formally join Chelsea on July 1.

As part of the settlement for his move, Norwich and Chelsea agreed to a sell-on clause in his contract.

Following Jim Fraser's appointment to the position of club head of youth development and recruitment earlier this year, Chelsea is eager to cultivate a strong foundation of young players in their Under-23s side.

This season, Matos has largely played as a right winger for Norwich and has also played in the Premier League 2 and U18 Premier League.

In 13 Premier League 2 outings this season, the former England Under-15 international has contributed three assists, while in eight appearances for the U18s, he has scored one goal and assisted on another.

Matos moved from Luton Town to the Norwich academy after impressing club scouts at the Under-12 level, and he has progressed through the age groups at Carrow Road.

The young Englishman is expected to join a number of other newcomers at Chelsea as they try to improve their development programme ahead of the upcoming season.
