Erik ten Hag is offered two alternatives as Man Utd sees cocky Mason Mount's bid'rejected' by Chelsea.
Mason Mount's contract at Chelsea is about to expire, and Manchester United has already made an offer.
According to reports, Chelsea turned down Manchester United's initial, lowball trade offer for Mason Mount. Now that the Red Devils are trying to make a move early in the summer transfer window, Erik ten Hag has two options.
Mount, whose Chelsea career may be over this summer, is thought to be in line to join United. After turning down several contract offers from the Blues, co-owner Todd Boehly is thinking about making a large transaction to prevent the possibility of losing him for free in a year.
Mount has an eye-watering £70 million price tag, although United, Arsenal, and Liverpool are reportedly interested in him. However, The Telegraph reports that the Red Devils made the first move this week by putting in a cheeky £40 million offer.
United was rejected at the outset, but it's thought that they are confident Mount won't agree to a new contract at Stamford Bridge.
Ten Hag now has two choices after being rejected: make a better offer to Chelsea again, or wait for the Blues to lower their high asking price.
