Chelsea and a 21-year-old La Liga player reach a personal agreement
According to reports, Chelsea and Nicolas Jackson of Villarreal have reached a personal agreement.
According to a recent report from David Ornstein of The Athletic, the Blues have made significant progress towards signing the highly regarded Senegalese forward.
It's no secret that the Londoners need to add a striker this summer. After spending the previous season on loan with his old team Inter Milan, Romelu Lukaku is unlikely to play for the team once more, while Kai Havertz appears destined to leave Stamford Bridge with both Bayern Munich and Arsenal in negotiations to buy him.
Jackson, 21, who is rumoured to have a €35 million release clause in his contract, appears to be moving closer to becoming that player. With very few central attackers left to rely on, new manager Mauricio Pochettino will almost certainly prioritise a new hitman to lead his line next season.
Jackson, who has three years left on his contract, has scored 13 goals in 47 games across all competitions since being promoted to Villarreal's senior first team last year.
