At a "recent meeting," Lawrence Stewart "offered" THREE Chelsea players in exchange for a Serbian ace valued at £69 million.
According to Calciomercato.com, Chelsea co-sporting director Lawrence Stewart has "offered" Christian Pulisic, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, and Trevoh Chalobah as part of a possible trade for Juventus' Dusan Vlahovic.
According to the Italian outlet, Stewart made the suggestion during a "recent meeting" in London with Giovanni Manna, the new sporting director for Juventus.
According to reports, the bid was not outright turned down, and manager Max Allegri will have the option of choosing which of the three players he wants.
Due to the upcoming exits of Angel Di Maria and Adrien Rabiot, Pulisic and Loftus-Cheek might be regarded as potential replacements. Another possibility for bolstering the Bianconeri's defence is Chalobah.
Why it makes sense to offer Vlahovic all three players
A year remains on Christian Pulisic's Stamford Bridge deal, and most estimates place his asking price at about £20 million. Ruben Loftus-Cheek is also approaching the end of his current contract and is probably valued between £20 million and £25 million.
Chalobah, meanwhile, might bring in a comparable sum, and the maths makes sense given that Vlahovic is worth approximately €80 million (£69 million).
This might kill two birds with one stone since Chelsea wants to trim down the size of their first team roster and the team wants to sign a new number nine.
Will Juventus be a desirable destination for the Chelsea trio?
In order to play more first-team games, Pulisic is eager to leave the Blues, and because Juve is rumoured to be one of his prospective suitors, the American international would likely be open to moving to Turin.
More questions remain over Loftus-Cheek. The 27-year-old was on the verge of signing a contract with AC Milan, but the Rossoneri have since reduced their interest, therefore it's possible that he will now join another Italian team.
Given that Inter, a competitor of Juventus, will play in the Champions League next year, Chalobah might prefer a transfer to the San Siro.
