This summer, Chelsea plans to "discuss" acquiring Harry Kane.
According to a report this week, Chelsea will discuss its prospective summer transfer pursuit of Tottenham striker Harry Kane.
Even though it seems hard to peel Kane from Spurs, Chelsea will still talk about it internally as they look to add an outstanding new striker to their lineup this summer.
That's what insider Ben Jacobs wrote this week in his latest, most in-depth, and exclusive Chelsea FC essay for Si & Dan Talk Chelsea.
Jacobs covered a lot of ground while going through Mauricio Pochettino's and Chelsea's transfer strategies. Due to their close friendship at Spurs, the latter could be crucial in Chelsea's pursuit of Kane.
However, Daniel Levy's reluctance to trade Kane to a rival, particularly one so close by in London neighbors Chelsea, makes Jacobs believe that any move for Kane is extremely unlikely to materialize. However, it will be discussed nonetheless.
But goals are the top importance, according to Jacobs. Chelsea wants a conventional No. 9 because of this. Although Harry Kane will be mentioned, Manchester United has done the research so far. Daniel Levy is not likely to consider a deal for less than £100 million. And it's unclear whether he would even want to sell to Chelsea.
Chelsea will talk about Kane internally, which is expected, but they haven't taken any concrete action. It's one of those transactions where Chelsea would be dumb to not at least look into it if a proven goal scorer like Kane actually becomes available and a deal is there to be had. However, everything is purely pre-Pochettino speculative at this time.
