On-loan striker has unfinished business at Chelsea, according to a pundit. "If I was him"
Romelu Lukaku, according to Ian Wright, has unfinished business at Chelsea.
Arsenal great Ian Wright has stated that Romelu Lukaku has unfinished business at Chelsea. After his loan at Inter Milan expires in the summer, the Belgian striker is anticipated to return to West London.
Chelsea wants to buy a proven striker, though, as they have struggled to find the net often this season. In Lukaku they have a proven goalscorer b ut he has so far struggled to impress in Blue.
The Belgian forward, who cost the Blues £100 million to re-sign from Inter Milan, has only scored eight goals in 26 Premier League games since his return under Thomas Tuchel.
If Mauricio Pochettino is chosen as the club's next manager, it is well known that he wants to keep the former Everton striker on staff. Hopefully, the Argentine can do the same for Lukaku as she did for Harry Kane, who she helped develop into a goal-scoring juggernaut.
For his part, Wright thinks the Belgian might seek atonement at Stamford Bridge. On his Ringer FC podcast, the former Arsenal player offered the following analysis of the situation (h/t Metro):
He may have unfinished business or prove those incorrect who questioned him. But returning now could be costly given that he wasn’t all that productive at Inter Milan and only recently found his form. Who knows, though—possibly winning the UEFA Champions League will help him develop his abilities even further.
Given that Pochettino intends to include him in his plans, it is vital that we back the manager’s vision for the future. He must cooperate with the squad after all.
He may recover his form or his return attempt may fail miserably, but it will surely be dangerous and may go either way. However, if we completely disregard his talent, it can come back to bite us.
