Chelsea was ready to spend out £70 million for Moises Caicedo.
According to reports, Chelsea is ready to rekindle their interest in Moises Caicedo of Brighton & Hove Albion.

Since the advent of a group led by Todd Boehly a year ago, Chelsea has spent more than £600 million over the course of two transfer windows.

However, such a brazen marketing strategy backfired, leaving the West Londoners in 11th place in the Premier League rankings and out of the competition for 2023–24.

While Mauricio Pochettino is about to become the team's next head coach, Chelsea will go through another summer of transition and change as they attempt to trim down their roster size and improve their FFP standing.

Of all the positions in their lineup, Chelsea is overstretched with central midfielders; this situation will change with the departures of Mateo Kovacic and Denis Zakaria, both on loan from Juventus.

However, additional sales will be required if Pochettino hopes to recruit a new player for his own engine room, a situation that is seen to be inevitable given their troubles this season.

Fichajes claims that Chelsea will spend up to €80 million (£70.23 million) to acquire Caicedo.

Since relocating to the Amex Stadium, the Ecuadorian international has been a revelation, helping the Seagulls go from Premier League relegation hopefuls to a team vying for European qualifying.

In the Premier League this season, Caicedo has played 30 starts and two substitute appearances, one of which he had planned to end at Arsenal.

Apparently, in January, Brighton turned down £60 million and £70 million bids for the 21-year-old, despite Caicedo's pleas to transfer to a more powerful club and subsequent signing of a new deal.

Despite this development, it has been reported that Brighton will consider selling Caicedo more in the summer, and Arsenal is still interested in acquiring him.

However, the Gunners are also interested in signing Declan Rice from West Ham United, a deal that might take precedence over one for Caicedo and allows Chelsea to jump ahead of the Gunners in the queue.

The Merseyside giants Liverpool are thought to be interested in signing Caicedo, although it has been widely speculated that they will instead try to recruit his Brighton teammate Alexis Mac Allister in a move of comparable size.
