News about Chelsea: Blues legend Boehly admits mistakes while accusing club's owner of "dirtying club's image."
Due to his disastrous tenure as owner, Todd Boehly continues to be a character who is greatly despised by the Chelsea fan base. Now, even club legends are criticising the owner.

One of Chelsea's worst seasons in their illustrious history is currently underway, and Todd Boehly is largely to blame.

Since the season began, the American businessman has fired two coaches, including Thomas Tuchel, the Champions League champion. The club legend Frank Lampard has now temporarily taken over for the German coach after Graham Potter, who suffered the same fate back in April, was replaced.

With five games left in the season, Chelsea is not yet mathematically safe from relegation because Lampard has dropped six straight games since taking the helm. The Blues have yet to accumulate 40 points, which most people believe is the necessary number to guarantee Premier League safety.

Here are some of the top news stories from Friday, May 5, related to events at Stamford Bridge.

Boehly has admitted that he, as well as others close to him at the top of Chelsea's hierarchy, have made errors that they will work to correct.

The Blues manager urged the supporters of Stamford Bridge to be patient when speaking at the Milken Institute Global Conference.

They obviously want to win, and we understand that; therefore, I believe our perspective was that this is a long-term initiative, and you know we're committed to the long-term, according to Boehly.

"We're confident that we'll solve the problem. We have the finest league in the world, I believe we live in the best city in the world, and we have an incredible location in that best city.

Frank Leboeuf criticised Boehly and the Chelsea team for "dirtying the image of the club" following their most recent loss to London rivals Arsenal.

The Frenchman called it "shameful, disgraceful, pitiful," according to the Daily Mail. "I doubt that the athletes are aware of what they are doing at this time.

"They are also tarnishing their personal image in addition to the club's. The worst football players in history are being displayed.

Everyone has been horrible at some point, including you, therefore it is possible. However, it demonstrates your lack of professionalism when you exhibit no character and no commitment to the task at hand.

Boehly has been urged by Gary Neville to stop interfering with on-pitch choices and concentrate on off-field issues.

Neville's opening statement on his Sky Sports podcast was, "Boehly has had a nightmare and misunderstood this league.

He'll pick it up quickly, I'm sure. He is solely responsible for what has occurred this season. He had to maintain harmony within the footballing division. He represents the football department.

"You own the business. You are neither an athlete nor a coach. You lack league experience, so stay there and let the individuals in charge of the football team—who have done so successfully for the past ten years—take over.
