As Todd Boehly's search to succeed Graham Potter narrows down to a four-man shortlist, including Julian Nagelsmann and Mauricio Pochettino, Vincent Kompany is a surprise contender to take over at Chelsea.
The promotion-winning Burnley manager is one of four candidates Chelsea has shortlisted for the vacant managerial position, and Vincent Kompany is a surprise possibility.

After meeting with Chelsea's co-sporting directors Paul Winstanley and Laurence Stewart in London last Thursday, former Bayern Munich manager Julian Nagelsmann is thought to be the front-runner for the position.
Former Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino is the final named candidate that co-controlling owners Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali are considering to assume the head at Stamford Bridge, in a turn of events that may surprise Blues fans.

Upon his return to England from a two-year stint as manager of the Belgian club Anderlecht, Kompany has wowed.

His Burnley team underwent a massive regeneration to secure automatic promotion on April 7 just one year after being down.

Spurs, who are also without long-term leadership in London following the firing of Antonio Conte during the international break, expressed interest in the Manchester City great as a result of his accomplishment.

The 37-year-old would have an overflowing in-tray if he accepted the position in west London.

After an unsatisfactory campaign that left the two-time Champions League champions without a spot in Europe for the upcoming season, the club will need to substantially cut its overstaffed team to be in line with FFP rules.

With the team's lack of goal-scoring potency, which is presently being managed by interim manager Frank Lampard, more signings may also be necessary.

In the Premier League this season, Chelsea has scored two fewer goals than Erling Haaland's individual performance.
