If Mauricio Pochettino takes over at Chelsea, he may be able to maximise an £88 million signing, but there may not be room for a struggling England star. Will the Blues lineup look like this next season under the Argentine?

This summer, Chelsea will undergo a significant makeover, and Mauricio Pochettino may be the ideal candidate to oversee the process.

The front-runner to succeed Graham Potter, who was fired earlier this month after only seven months in command of the Blues, is now the former Tottenham manager.

Despite making an astounding £541 million in purchases since Todd Boehly took over last summer, Chelsea is expected to be among the major spenders once more. Additionally, Pochettino could alter the current structure in a number of ways if he were to assume leadership.

Kepa Arrizabalaga and Edouard Mendy have both performed poorly in goal, so the Argentine will need to choose between the two. If he chooses a new player for the role, one of them will have to depart, although the Spain international appears to be in the lead.

Pochettino loves offensive full-backs after having success with Kyle Walker and Danny Rose on both sides of the game, as was evident during his time at Tottenham.

The addition of the highly regarded Malo Gusto from Lyon will help Chelsea next season, but Reece James will still be an important member of the squad despite being limited by injuries this year. Ben Chilwell and Marc Cucurella appear to be the clear-cut candidates for the left-back position.

Leipzig RB The premier clubs in Europe will be interested in Josko Gvardiol. Chelsea was in negotiations with the German club last summer and came close to signing the Croatian defender. They now appear likely to try again.

After playing in both games against Real Madrid, N'Golo Kante appears to have overcome his injury issues. He will team up with £107 million player Enzo Fernandez in a two-man midfield, much like Pochettino did at Tottenham with Victor Wanyama and Moussa Dembele.
