Frank Lampard, the head coach of Chelsea, has disputed claims that the team is experiencing a crisis this month.

The Premier League heavyweights are having a challenging season in all competitions as they fight for a top-half finish at home and may be eliminated from the Champions League.

Real Madrid easily defeated Lampard's team 2-0 in the first leg of their Champions League quarterfinal match, and the Blues will need to pull off a slight miracle in the second game tomorrow.

Even though Thomas Tuchel's replacement Graham Potter was fired earlier this month, the club is still in a state of flux, but interim manager Lampard is optimistic that things will turn around in the final stretch.

We're not in the place we want to be. That is obvious.

But I believe the word 'broken' is overused.

"Our 2-0 deficit in this game reflects our league status, which is a fact. We need to fight back against that.

Since replacing Potter, Lampard has failed to record a point, suffering two straight Premier League losses after the setback in Madrid.

With seven league games remaining, a loss to Real Madrid would practically put an end to Chelsea's campaign as they are presently 17 points out of the top four spots.
