Following surgery that might put an end to his Chelsea career, MASON MOUNT addressed a message to the team's supporters.

The England midfielder underwent surgery on Tuesday to address a chronic abdomen ailment. He has been widely linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge this summer.

The 24-year-old also updated his followers on his condition on Instagram after the treatment.

Mount posted a picture of himself in bed wearing a hospital gown and said, "experienced a small operation yesterday to address some discomfort I experienced.

"Everything went smoothly, and I'm in high spirits.

Although I'm eager to resume training in the upcoming weeks, it's time to recover.

"Many thanks to the medical staff, including the doctors and nurses, for taking care of me," she wrote in response to everyone's supportive remarks.

The future of Mount's contract with his hometown club, Chelsea, is still up in the air.

Arsenal and Liverpool are also rumored to be interested in the star.

Tuesday, interim Chelsea manager Frank Lampard said that Mount's operation would probably terminate his campaign.

When asked if Mount might have played in his final match for the Blues, Lampard responded, "I don't know the answer to that [if Mount had played his final Chelsea match]. It's a conversation between Mason and the club, so I don't know.

"Those negotiations are still taking place, so it's not definitive at this time.

It's unfortunate for me because I believe everyone is aware of how I feel about working with Mason, and I'd like to believe he feels the same way.

And in the games we've already played this season, we could have used him.

But the larger picture—that is, the discussions between the club and Mason—will become more apparent over the coming weeks and months.

"At this point, it's not my opinion that will determine the outcome," he continued.

"It will be Mason's and the club's judgment, so that is between them.

"I believe my viewpoint is very obvious; I don't need to elaborate on what I think about Mason as a player.

But it is between them; I'm not the one to get involved.
