Chelsea XI vs. Real Madrid: Expected lineup, updated injury report, and team news

The most recent team information as Chelsea attempts to stun Madrid in the Champions League

Madrid in the Champions League, creating the possibility of an unexpected result.

N'Golo Kante, Mason Mount, and Thiago Silva, recent absentees from the quarterfinal first leg at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium on Wednesday night, are among the 24-man contingent that has flown to Spain.

Kante was only scratched from the 1-0 loss to Wolves to control his workload before a pivotal match, but he is likely to be ready to start.

But, he has only appeared for 69 minutes since beginning training again after a seven-month absence due to a hamstring injury, and he might not be ready to play the entire game.

Silva and Mount are also available, but it is unknown how fit they are compared to him. Silva returns from a six-week absence due to a knee ailment after only two training sessions, while Mount is suffering from a bothersome pelvic injury that is making him uncomfortable and in agony.

Cesar Azpilicueta also traveled, but he is questionable because he has been sidelined since mid-February with a knee ailment and concussion. Marcus Bettinelli, the team's backup goalkeeper, has recovered from a minor injury.

After suffering a significant knee injury, Armando Broja has chosen not to travel and is accelerating his recovery in order to be ready for the upcoming season.

In a departure from his first game in charge, interim manager Frank Lampard might select Chilwell over Marc Cucurella to play at left-back.

Kepa; James, Fofana, Koulibaly, Chilwell; Kante, Enzo, Kovacic; Joao Felix, Havertz, Sterling; Chelsea's anticipated starting lineup (4-3-3)
