Barcelona wants to bring Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to the club and is willing to do so if Chelsea does not demand compensation for the striker.

The former Arsenal player is still wanted by Barcelona, but only for free, according to Mundo Deportivo (h/t Metro), despite his unsuccessful season at Stamford Bridge.

Aubameyang enjoyed himself during his brief stay at Camp Nou and scored 11 goals in 17 La Liga games, which enticed the Blues to sign the striker and reconnect him with Thomas Tuchel, who was ultimately fired.

The 33-year-old was a £10 million purchase for Chelsea, but Graham Potter removed him from the lineup for the Champions League after he was unable to aid the side's goal-scoring woes.

The Gabonese forward has just 13 Premier League games under his belt and one goal so far. In place of Lukaku, the 33-year-old struggled with his finishing, scoring only three goals across all competitions.

After Barcelona defeated Real Madrid 2-1 in La Liga, the former AC Milan striker was also seen celebrating with another player from Barcelona. Aubameyang also desires to return to the Catalan giants.

Chelsea is also eager to sell the player given his large salary, but they do not like the thought of doing so for nothing. That is reasonable. Given that Barcelona had snatched up two of our players, Marcos Alonso and Andreas Christensen, on unpaid transfers last summer, why should we give them a favour?

Simply put, Aubameyang has not assisted us in scoring goals. He arrived on deadline day, and the purchase betrayed a team in a hurry since they were unsure of who they wanted up front for the season.
