A pundit suggests that Chelsea rehire their former manager and designate Blues great John Terry as his No. 2nd

Chelsea should employ Jose Mourinho as manager once more and choose John Terry as his assistant, according to BeIN Sports presenter Richard Keys.

Since Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali became co-owners in May 2022, the Blues are currently looking for their third permanent head coach. Graham Potter took Thomas Tuchel's position after his firing in September of last year.
The previous manager of Brighton & Hove Albion, though, was fired after only six months at Stamford Bridge. Since then, Frank Lampard has been named Chelsea's interim manager for the remainder of the year.

Lampard shouldn't, in Keys' opinion, remain on the coaching staff. According to Metro, he suggested the West Londoners think about rehiring Mourinho and employing Terry as his deputy.

Jose Mourinho with John Terry serving as his assistant would be my choice. Chelsea supporters would believe it, and I believe Mourinho would have the fortitude to resolve everything. He remains the Unique One.

Keys went on to make a reference to Mourinho's work at his current team, AS Roma. Last year, the Portuguese coach guided i Lupi to victory in the inaugural UEFA Europa Conference League:"

Look at what he's doing at Roma; the team is currently third in Serie A, has already won a trophy, and is expected to do so again this year.

Despite having a deal with Roma through 2024, Mourinho hasn't ruled out departing in the past. During his two stints at Stamford Bridge, the renowned coach was a huge hit.

He captured the FA Cup once, three League Cups, and three Premier Leagues. Terry is now Dean Smith's assistant at Leicester City, however his contract expires at the conclusion of the current campaign.

Given their failures this season, Chelsea is in dire need of a revamp. They are now ranked 11th in the league and have been eliminated from all cup events. Only seven games remain, and the Blues are 17 points outside the top four.

According to reports, Luis Enrique, the former manager of Barcelona, is no longer a top candidate to follow Potter at Stamford Bridge. The Spaniard spoke with the Blues about the opening, but it seems he didn't persuade them sufficiently.

According to The Evening Standard, Enrique and former Bayern Munich manager Julian Nagelsmann were expected to be in a two-horse race. He is now thought to be an outsider, nevertheless.

Enrique's track record speaks for itself; with Barcelona, he won two La Liga championships and the UEFA Champions League. After leading Spain to the round of 16 at the Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup, he resigned from his position as manager.
