Poch, sign him up! Roma lists Tammy Abraham for sale
According to The Telegraph, Roma will consider offers for former Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham during the summer transfer window.
Abraham, who started in Friday night's defeat to Sevilla in the Europa League final, might be moved to assist the Serie A club adhere to Financial Fair Play rules.
The 24-year-old scored an incredible 36 goals in two seasons since joining Jose Mourinho's team in a £34 million transfer.
He was frequently rotated with Andrea Belotti, but his output in 2022–23 was lower than it was in 2021–22.
There is a fair likelihood that Roma will now try to capitalise on the Englishman, and a plethora of parties will be interested.
Given that he led Frank Lampard's Chelsea to 15 league goals in the 2019–20 season, it stands to reason that any Premier League team lacking a striker would be keeping an eye on him, even his previous squad.
Abraham visit Chelsea once more?
No football team in the world needs a "number nine" more than Chelsea.
The acquisition of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was a complete failure, and in December, Armando Broja, a promising player, sustained a season-ending ACL injury.
Quite predictably, Kai Havertz was frequently asked to play up front, where he failed miserably.
Despite Christopher Nkunku's impending transfer to Chelsea from RB Leipzig, it is evident that the Blues need to reinforce in the striker position in the summer.
Victor Osimhen, Harry Kane, and Ivan Toney, who are all stronger players than Abraham, have all been mentioned as possible targets.
But due to the high cost of Osimhen, Kane's loyalty to the Spurs, and Toney's suspension, each of them presents substantial tradeoffs.
Therefore, Chelsea might be compelled to choose a less appealing option, and the return of Abraham would undoubtedly be disappointing. But that doesn't mean it would be a bad business decision
Why couldn't he repeat his accomplishment today if, before to progressing under Mourinho, he had scored 15 goals in a Premier League season? Or get more points?
Abraham would undoubtedly score between 15 and 20 league goals for a spirited Chelsea squad managed by Mauricio Pochettino, helping them climb back into the top four.
The Blues could certainly do worse for around £40 million.
