Moises Caicedo will join Chelsea as three transactions finalise.

Following the failure of a deal for Sporting CP striker Manuel Ugarte, sources have told Football Insider that Chelsea are ready to increase their interest in Brighton player Moises Caicedo.

The Blues have long been admirers of Caicedo, 21, and it's thought that regardless of their acquisition of Ugarte, he was on the midfield shortlist.

Chelsea plans to make a summer window bid after identifying the Ecuadorian international as a future superstar.

Even if their separate pursuits of Declan Rice, Mason Mount, and Alexis MacAllister have advanced, Arsenal, Man United, and Liverpool are all considering Caicedo as a potential transfer.

As a result, it is thought that Chelsea may now outbid their competitors for a lucrative agreement.

Caicedo would be interested in a summer transfer to Stamford Bridge, according to a reliable source who spoke to Football Insider.

He re-signed a four-year deal with Brighton in March, but it's thought that the Seagulls and he have an agreement that would let him depart if the appropriate offer came up.

During the 2022–23 season, Caicedo made 43 appearances across all competitions and contributed to Roberto De Zerbi's team's Europa League qualifying with one goal and one assist.

Arsenal expressed interest in him in January, but Brighton allegedly rejected their £70 million offer as the transfer window closed.

Following the firings of Thomas Tuchel and Graham Potter in the 2022–23 season, Chelsea has officially announced the hiring of former Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino.

Ugarte of Sporting was on the verge of being Pochettino's first acquisition at Stamford Bridge, but Chelsea was allegedly outbid by Paris Saint-Germain at the last minute.
