At the Spanish Grand Prix, Mason Mount was asked about a prospective transfer to Manchester United.
Prior to a summer transfer to Old Trafford, 90min reported earlier in the week that Mount's representatives had reached a preliminary agreement on personal terms with Man Utd. After negotiations with his current club Chelsea for a new contract stagnated, the midfielder has reportedly spoken with Liverpool, Arsenal, and Newcastle United.
Martin Brundle of Sky Sport cornered Mount prior to Sunday's Formula One race in Spain and asked him about a prospective switch to the Red Devils. Mount responded, "I am simply here to enjoy this race today! Amazing day, want to see it right away.
Brundle also discussed Mount's probable transfer with his friend and teammate Ben Chilwell, who responded that he'd be thrilled if Mount stayed at Chelsea.
I would love for him to stay, but it's none of my concern personally because he's my best friend.
Personal terms have been agreed upon, however 90min understands that Chelsea would prefer to recover some of Mount's value in the transfer window from Man Utd. Man Utd is eager to make an offer of about £50m, while the Blues are holding out for a sum more in line with £75m.
The midfielder's current deal at Stamford Bridge still has one year to run, and incoming boss Mauricio Pochettino is reportedly eager to keep hold of him.
