When the transfer market opens the following week, newly appointed Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino will want to make significant changes to his team.

The former Tottenham Hotspur manager recently took over a sizable playing team that this season could only achieve a 12th-place finish in the Premier League.

The London club will now try to sell a number of current stars in order to balance the books and downsize the team after owner Todd Boehly spent over £500m on players last season.

Pochettino will have to make a number of difficult decisions because it is assumed that he will have the ultimate say about which players are placed up for sale and which ones remain at Stamford Bridge.

The club and the former Spurs player reportedly have already agreed on personal terms, and it now looks that the custodian has already been identified.

Chelsea and Inter Milan goalie Andre Onana have reportedly signed a deal, according to Tutto Mercato via The Sun.

According to the article, while the Blues and Onana have struck an agreement, a contract with Inter has not yet been achieved despite Inter having rejected a £34 million bid for the player.

Onana, 27, is considered by many as one of the top players in Europe in his position and joined Inter Milan on a free transfer from Ajax last summer.

During his seven-year tenure with the Dutch powerhouses, the Cameroonian was acknowledged as one of the greatest young goalkeepers in the world, and since transferring last summer, he has elevated his game to new heights.

Back in 2021, Onana's career was on the verge of failure when he received a nine-month suspension from football for testing positive for a performance-enhancing substance.

However, the international for Cameroon has had a career turnaround in Italy, making 41 appearances this season in all competitions.

In 13 games in the Champions League this season, the custodian made eight clean sheets, which helped the Serie A giants advance to the competition's final.

Onana, though, was unable to save Inter from losing to Manchester City 1-0 in the championship game on Saturday.

He currently has a deal with his current club through the summer of 2027, which may make it challenging for the player to move on.

Edouard Mendy and Kepa Arrizabalaga, Chelsea's current senior goalkeepers, have both battled with consistency throughout their time with the club thus far. As a result, club officials are looking for a new world-class goalkeeper.
