The Bournemouth goal highlights two significant issues with Chelsea's team.

The Bournemouth equalizer against Chelsea allowed the Cherries to easily cut us open, and although the club had a variety of defensive issues, it really brought two of them to light.

Kepa made the shot appear challenging (as usual), but he really isn't to fault for this one because it flew into the owl's sleeping spot in the top corner.

The lack of a committed number 6 in front of the defense was the clearest reason for how we were exposed. Even though N'Golo Kante excels at recovering the ball, he prefers to play higher up and doesn't position himself in front of the defense like a genuine defensive midfielder would.

Thiago Silva, who stepped out to challenge and was subsequently trapped in the 1-2 pass that rushed through us, presented the other problem. Silva is still a fantastic defender, but he never seems at ease playing in a back three as compared to a back two. This was the ideal example of that.
