After Frank Lampard blamed his superiors for his poor performance, Chelsea owner Todd Boehly responded.

Todd Boehly is optimistic that Chelsea will resume its winning ways.
Frank Lampard recently said that the individuals "behind the scenes" are to blame for the Blues' current struggles, and Chelsea owner Todd Boehly has responded to that. Boehly still views Chelsea as a "long term project" and is sure that Londoners will work it out.

The West Londoners have endured a terrible season in Boehly's debut year as coach. They have dropped their last six games in a row and are currently sitting in 14th place in the Premier League.

Graham Potter left his position as manager last month, and Lampard was hired to fill the void until the end of the current campaign as administrators conducted interviews for the permanent position. The Chelsea great has attempted to motivate the group, but to no avail.

Chelsea has enjoyed great success for 20 years, but Lampard told Sky Sports that Chelsea isn't now in that position. "In the time I've been here, it's been easy to see the reasons why on the practice field and behind the scenes. It doesn't matter where you go if you're going to be a pleasant team to play against all the time. Although it won't change over night, we should move quickly.

"There are a number of reasons behind our game's passive nature. The athletes genuinely care. They lack confidence, but playing for Chelsea requires you to play a specific style even when you lack confidence.

"Whatever it is, it might not even matter because the only way to get through it is to comprehend it and put forth a lot of effort. For a long time, the gap was in the opposite direction.

Lampard's comments were met by Boehly's response: "You know they want to win, and we get that we want to win, so you know I believe our position through was that this is a long-term project, and you know we're committed to the long-term.

"We have every confidence that we will solve the problem. We have the best league in the world, the best city in the world (in my opinion), and an incredible location in the best city in the world.

After previous frontrunners for the position Julian Nagelsmann and Luis Enrique withdrew from consideration, Mauricio Pochettino is anticipated to take over at Stamford Bridge the following season. The Argentine was first considered a "back up option," but he was able to impress club management throughout the interview process. Since Paris Saint-Germain fired him in July 2022, he has been without a job.
