Pochettino Todd Boehly's contract and Mason Mount's position are included in Chelsea'sgame  plan. Chelsea is looking for a permanent manager to succeed Frank Lampard, and Mauricio Pochettino is a major contender to take the helm at Stamford Bridge this summer.

In this summer's managerial race for Chelsea, Mauricio Pochettino has emerged as a front-runner, and his prospective appointment would be huge for Stamford Bridge.

Tuesday's second leg of the Champions League quarterfinal saw the Blues lose to Real Madrid by a score of two at home. It happened just six days after they were soundly crushed by the same margin in the capital of Spain, and their disastrous season seemed destined to conclude in loss.

While serving as Stamford Bridge's temporary manager, Frank Lampard has established a new club record by becoming the first manager to lose each of his first four games in the position. After letting go of both Thomas Tuchel and Graham Potter this season, the Blues are searching for a permanent replacement this summer.

Pochettino and Julian Nagelsmann are considered to be the Blues' two top candidates. According to the Telegraph, former Barcelona manager Luis Enrique and Sporting CP manager Ruben Amorim are no longer among the front-runners for the job.

For the Blues, Pochettino checks a lot of boxes. The Athletic stated that Blues owner Todd Boehly had given German coach Thomas Tuchel the order to use a 4-4-3 system with an additional player following his firing earlier this season. The American wants his team to play in a 4-3-3 formation, despite Chelsea's denial of this version of events.

Pochettino used this strategy at PSG after opting for a 4-2-3-1 style at Tottenham. He was able to force Lionel Messi into an offensive that already included Kylian Mbappe and Neymar thanks to his new strategy. It shown that he is adaptable to altering his setup depending on the situation, yet it is debatable whether the French club has had success utilizing this arrangement.

Pochettino doesn't seem to be excessively committed to a specific formation, favoring playstyle above structure. When asked where he got the concept that his squad needed to press, Pochettino responded, "Where did I get the idea we have to (press)? It has to do with your character and who you are.

The Argentine continued, "You demonstrate who you are on the field. If you act bravely in your daily life, you must also act bravely on the field. I have no idea how to play in a different manner. Always show courage. I enjoy showing courage.

However, he has an understanding with Boehly, who has prioritized signing young players for Chelsea. Six of the club's January signings are among the 16 players in the Blues first team roster who are 24 years old or younger. With players who fit this age profile, Pochettino has succeeded.

Harry Kane, Dele Alli, Eric Dier, Ben Davies, and Nabil Bentaleb were all 22 years old or younger in his debut Spurs squad, while Erik Lamela, Christian Eriksen, Ryan Mason, and full-backs Kyle Walker and Danny Rose were all 25 years old.
