Lampard "might not be able" to free Stamford Bridge's $72 million star, according to Chelsea
Frank Lampard, the interim manager of Chelsea, may not be able to make the most of a £310,000 weekly salary, according to journalist Dean Jones, who spoke with GIVEMESPORT.

Journalist Dean Jones told GIVEMESPORT that Chelsea interim manager Frank Lampard might not be able to employ attacking midfielder Kai Havertz successfully at Stamford Bridge.

After Graham Potter was fired earlier this month, the former Blues head coach has rejoined the organisation.

Kai Havertz has struggled to have the desired impact after joining Chelsea for £72 million from Bundesliga team Bayer Leverkusen.

Before the club veteran was dismissed of his duties later that season, the German playmaker was initially acquired during the summer transfer window of 2020 under Lampard.

Lampard, Potter, and Thomas Tuchel have all struggled to get the most of the attacker throughout their tenures at Stamford Bridge despite being utilised in a variety of situations.

Following a spate of underwhelming performances, journalist Simon Phillips recently told GIVEMESPORT that Havertz should be benched by Lampard.

The 23-year-old is one of the Blues' greatest players, according to Jones, but he isn't used in his natural position.

What has Jones stated regarding Havertz and Chelsea?
The issue is that Kai Havertz is one of Chelsea's top players, but you need to use him wisely, Jones told GIVEMESPORT.

"I'm not sure if Frank Lampard is able to pull that off.

"At the tail end of Graham Potter's administration, Chelsea showed symptoms of catching up to him.

"It's odd for Havertz to understand how he fits into any camp.

I've always thought of him as a support striker rather than a true striker.

Chelsea won't play that manner any time soon, in my opinion.

How has Havertz fared since joining Chelsea?
Havertz's tenure at Chelsea has been a mixed bag; the attacking midfielder has had trouble adjusting and finding his footing at Stamford Bridge, despite having made a big contribution at times.

The 34-cap Germany international contributed to 47 goals in just 132 games for the Blues, suggesting that he is a consistent scorer.

The Champions League final win over Manchester City in 2021, when Havertz scored the game's lone goal to claim the club's second European Cup triumph, is definitely the pinnacle of the Aachen-born star's tenure in west London.

However, with an average WhoScored rating of 6.82 for his performances in the Premier League this season, he only rates as Lampard's squad's ninth best performer, suggesting that his services might be surplus to requirements for the appropriate price.

While Havertz's time at Chelsea has not exactly been a success, the £310,000 weekly salary earner will have hoped for better results to support his pay package.
