Chelsea identify a suitable replacement for Julian Nagelsmann that has Pep Guardiola's endorsement.

Graham Potter was fired by Chelsea at the beginning of the month, and the club is moving forward with the hunt for a new manager and has already identified potential possibilities.

Despite starting conversations with the former Bayern Munich manager, Julian Nagelsmann, Chelsea is looking into other possibilities.

Since Todd Boehly became the team's owner in May of last year, the Blues are looking for their third permanent manager. The American fired Graham Potter at the beginning of October after dismissing Thomas Tuchel in September.

However, the Blues are moving forward with their hunt for a permanent manager to replace Frank Lampard at the end of the current campaign. Although Nagelsmann is one of the front-runners, Vincent Kompany's name is also coming up more and more.

The Times claims that despite the Belgian's remarkable job at Burnley, Chelsea 'admire' him. At the first attempt, Kompany guided the Clarets back to the Premier League, and the Turf Moor team is expected to be promoted as champions.

The former captain of Manchester City is already on Tottenham's shortlist, creating competition for the Belgian's hiring. Kompany only took over last summer, so he hasn't even been at Burnley for a whole year.

But in order to help them storm to promotion from the second tier, he essentially assembled an entirely new team and adopted an appealing footballing strategy. They have only lost twice all season, and as a result, Kompany has garnered interest from numerous elite teams.

Chelsea's shortlist for the position includes at least four other men in addition to Kompany. The current front-runner, Nagelsmann, has already spoken with Blues management.

The final choice will be made by Boehly and co-controlling owner Behdad Eghbali; there is currently no favoured candidate selected. But Kompany is being taken into consideration, along with Nagelsmann and Luis Enrique.

Pep Guardiola, who led City for the final three years of Kompany's tenure there, will be happy to hear that news. The fact that Guardiola thinks the Belgian is qualified for a position in the Premier League has previously been stated.

Although it's good to have him back, I've been reflecting on their performance this season over the past two or three days. Prior Manchester City and Burnley's FA Cup quarterfinal matchup last month, he remarked, "What I saw didn't make me utterly surprised about the position they're in, being so close to being a Premier League team next year already.

"Now that I've had a closer look at what they do, I fully comprehend it. They perform amazing feats on the pitch, so they will be very, very challenging.

"A manager needs time, but to succeed with a team, you must persuade [them] as quickly as possible of your strategy for winning games that best suits the players. They have a solid team, and their play is outstanding.
