Ancelotti declines the Chelsea position
Carlo Ancelotti, manager of Real Madrid, has said that he will not take over as manager of Chelsea at the end of this current campaign.
When the two managers get ready to square off tomorrow, he informed Fabrizio Romano that he thought Frank Lampard would be the club's best bet.

After Graham Potter was fired as manager, Chelsea was compelled to make a second managerial hire this year.

Early in the campaign, the former Brighton man took Thomas Tuchel's position, and despite Todd Boehly's support, the American eventually fired him earlier this month.

The selection of a permanent manager appears to have been delayed until the end of the current campaign, despite the fact that Julian Nagelsmann and Luis Enrique were once considered the front-runners for the position.

Lampard has been hired on a temporary basis to take over the team for a second time; his first game in charge ended in a loss against Wolves.

Ancelotti, a former league-winning manager of the Blues, has indicated he will not be taking the post as discussions regarding who will serve as the campaign's permanent leader at the finish continue.

"Chelsea is a team full of stars," he remarked. I have wonderful memories of Chelsea. I am a member of the team. Back up? No, I believe [Frank] Lampard is the best candidate and will work wonders with them. In addition to having a fantastic team and understanding how to prepare for huge games like tomorrow, Lampard is a very competent coach.

Despite Lampard's hiring, it has already been said that the club will still be seeking for a new manager after the end of the current campaign since the board is not likely to be convinced by Lampard's performance to make the appointment.
