A Chelsea player gives a message to Real Madrid that reads, "We are going to prove it."
According to Kalidou Koulibaly, Chelsea is "going to prove" that they are a competent squad and that they would do "everything" to defeat Real Madrid in the Champions League.
The Blues, who are presently ranked 11th in the Premier League, have had a difficult season. The enormous flood of players that have joined in the last two transfer windows is mostly to blame for that.
16 players have really joined the team since Todd Boehly acquired it from Roman Abramovich. Even if it may appear contradictory, having a lot of players join the team must make it difficult for them to work well together.
Koulibaly, who came last summer, believes the team will gel well, but it will take time.
"It takes time to put all of this together and be productive because half the workforce is new and the ownership is new. We are trying to demonstrate that we have a strong team, he told ABC.
By this time, the Premier League season is practically over. With only eight games left, the Blues have virtually little chance of finishing in a respectable spot, thus their focus will be mostly on the Champions League.
The champion Real Madrid will play Chelsea in the quarterfinals. Koulibaly believes they have what it takes to defeat the victors from last year, despite the fact that doing so is undoubtedly a huge challenge.
"Really challenging. We know it, but we need to be persuaded that we can compete with them; else, we're gone," he remarked.
"It is preferable not to introduce ourselves if we believe we cannot compete with Real Madrid.
Real Madrid is now the Champions League winner, they have a fantastic team, and they just scored four goals against Barça.
"They are the clear favorite, I won't lie to you, but we will do everything in our power to get rid of them."
That is an opportunity for both the Blues team and interim manager Frank Lampard to make a statement.
A deep run in the Champions League would demonstrate his worth to Chelsea or another team.
We now need to concentrate on Lampard's job, Koulibaly said, "and I'm really sorry for Tuchel and Potter, the two coaches that were fired."
He is a legendary figure in this group. He is an expert in the property, so working with him will be simpler. He advised us to confront our current reality, so we must now heed his counsel and have faith in his abilities.
His first message to us was to demonstrate his faith in us and his belief that we shall all be significant. That's encouraging.
